About us
From seven students to a university benchmark
UJI Robotics Team was born in 2022, when seven robotics students decided to take their theoretical knowledge a step further and create Universitat Jaume I's first robotics team. Since then we've established ourselves as one of the university's most active teams, competing nationally and internationally in robotics.
Mission
To drive technological development by taking part in international robotics competitions and sustainable projects, fostering hands-on learning and collaboration with industry.
Vision
To be a benchmark in technological and educational development, inspiring new generations to explore the potential of robotics, and showing that technology can transform lives and build a sustainable future.

How we work
One project per year group
We keep an organized structure where each year of the team takes on a project suited to their skills: first-years train through a seven-week program (electronics, PCB design, 3D printing, Arduino, Git...), second-years compete nationally in the ASTI Robotics Challenge, and third/fourth-years lead our most ambitious projects — the Iberus Qibina rover and the Reciplasa catamaran — always under the supervision of the most experienced students.
Mechanics
Structural design, CAD, manufacturing and 3D printing for every robot and boat on the team.
Electronics
PCB design, wiring, sensors and actuators — from motors to power systems.
Software
Control, autonomous navigation, computer vision, and integrating every system together.
Artificial Intelligence
Perception, decision-making and learning algorithms applied to our robots.
GUI & Communications
Control and telemetry interfaces for operating the robots during competitions.
Science & Mission
Designing experiments and scientific objectives, especially for the Iberus Qibina rover.
Outreach
You'll also find us outside the lab
We take part in talks, innovation fairs and science outreach events such as Mednight or Science GTS, bringing robotics closer to students of all ages.
